One Fine Day.

Yesterday was a beautiful, memorable day for us. Even the weather shouted Hallelujah. It was 60 degrees outside and sunshiny after a week of rain, hail, wind, snow and blehhhh. Any good day begins with fellowship and worship at church; especially when your church is an amazing God-honoring place like FBC Boise! After church we grabbed a quick-lunch at home; tasty leftover cheeseburger soup from our Saturday dinner. YUM! We ran out to Meridian to visit Grandpa-Great and spent an hour visiting while he tried to keep his eyes open for us. Jane Storm made her Grandpa-Great a get-well card that we hung on his wall next to awesome elk pics from his own backyard. After our visit, we met friends at the movie theater to see The Lorax. We all enjoyed a timely message about caring for the outdoors and thinking about the consequences of our actions – short & long-term. Now, last Fall we won a gift card from a parenting seminar with $50 dollars on it. We’d been waiting for the perfect day to use it for family time. After buying movie tickets, it had exactly $20 left on it so we headed to Fuddruckers for dinner. Little did we know dinner was FREE, hosted by none other than our local Rescue Mission. We donated all the was left on the card, ate burgers and slurped down all the soda our bellies could hold. It didn’t slip past us that God managed to turn our gift card into a layered blessing…not just benefiting our family but the homeless community, too. He’s amazing. After dinner we went separate ways, me & Jane Storm to ballet practice and Mr. Fantastic to see a Rainbow play structure for sale on Craigslist. See, we’ve been hunting Craigslist for a good deal on a play structure for 2 years. We’ve tried to be patient and we’ve lost out on not just a few good deals. Yesterday was just our day. On a whim, Mr. Fantastic hopped on Craigslist and was the first to call the owners. We put a deposit on our play structure and can’t wait to tear it down and find the perfect place for it in our backyard. I cannot wait to spend the summer feeding the neighbor kids cookies and watching them play in the backyard with my kids. Praise God. We managed to get to bed earlier than usual and woke today especially grateful for yesterday. So much to be thankful for and so many exciting memories to hold as a family. *ahhhh* Yep, one fine day.
